About Me
1
I am a Christian, musician, husband, father, brother, son, & lover of a good meal.
This blog was started to try to share my experiences leading music in a contemporary setting. I feel that Contemporary Worship should be done well, and it is too easy to be done so. It just takes a bit of thought, planning, experience, and most importantly prayer.
If you are interested in booking me to be part of your next worship service, conference, or event; please send a line to mike@redchairmusic.com.
Now a little about me personally:
I met my wife, Narcie, in college where I studied music, and left with my Bachelors of Music Education (Secondary Choral). In college I helped lead music at our campus ministry and really began to get a taste and feel for leading worship. After college we then moved to Atlanta, GA, where she went to seminary and I spent the time teaching elementary music, and joined a band, The Redaction. With the band I recorded a few albums, played major festivals, and toured across the Southeast and up the (East) coast. There in Atlanta I also had a job writing and recording music for children.
We then moved back to SC, where my wife became the Director of the Wesley Foundation at Winthrop University and I opened up a recording studio. I have kept busy assisting Narcie and leading music for the Wesley Foundation at Winthrop University, I helped begin a contemporary service at a church in Fort Mill, SC; and towards the end of our time in Rock Hill was asked to be a part of the Creative Service at Oakland Baptist Church in Rock Hill, SC. And this in the midst of two children!
We have since moved to Gainesville, FLORIDA! My wife was named the Director/Campus Minister for the Wesley Foundation at the University of Florida, Gator Wesley! It has been an exciting move; the house has been unpacked and we are all excited about this new journey…
I strive to create music for worship that is fresh, meaningful, appropriate for worship, and memorable.
In my spare time I enjoy riding my bike, spending time with Narcie and our two children, and occasionally trying to Hoola Hoop.

Hi, nice to meet you !
