Up from the Grave He Arose

A while back during a Thursday night gathering at the Wesley Foundation the drummer and I started just vamping waiting for folks to transition to the Praise and Worship portion of the night.  Well I thought the riff was catchy, and the next day went about a bit of work.  It had a definite James Brown/Sly and the Family Stone kind of feel so I went all out and came up with a funky arrangement of the classic Easter hymn, Up from the Grave He Arose.  Also the youth choir for St. John’s in Fort Mill, Relentless, joined us – making it a very special Easter service!

My hope is that this arrangement will put the words in a new light for you, that you will find yourself singing it throughout the week and will be reminded of the great Love of Christ.
